#8 Lamb of God.jpg

Jesus was called the Lamb of God by prophets who lived during old testament times. When John the Baptist saw Jesus for the first time, he called Him the Lamb of God. From the time of Moses, the Jewish people sacrificed unblemished, male lambs for the forgiveness of their sins. Now Jesus would be the final and lasting, sacrificial Lamb. He was unblemished, meaning He was perfect, never having sinned. Ironically, Jesus called Himself the Good Shepherd and calls us his lambs. He cares for us, protects us, and is even willing to sacrifice His life to save us - His precious lambs - which of course He did on this day over 2,000 years ago.

Lambs and sheep were common animals in ancient times. Common animals today are dogs and cats. If you have a pet, a stuffed animal, or even a piece of fabric, feel it's softness.
